The newest knife from Gerber Gear has a quicker, more consistent blade deployment.

The stainless steel US-Assist knife uses a ball-bearing system to reduce friction and create a smooth rotational movement of the blade.

Gerber uses B.O.S.S. Tech, a caged ball-bearing system that keeps the steel balls contained for stable performance over time and easier maintenance.

Additional features include a plunge-lock crossbolt system that keeps the blade from springing open while not in use used, and a scratch-resistant clip.

The 3-inch blade knife was launched in August and will be available in November, said Gerber's trade marketing coordinator Natasha Braunwart.

Braunwart said the knife is ambidextrous and has already won several awards, including "Best in Show" from Gear Junkie for gear in 2017.

The MSRP is $99.
